RIP Malcolm Morley. At Sperone Westwater until Oct. 27th.
I didn’t get the name or date of this painting, and I can’t find it on the website. But it’s proof that he could stun and beguile me with the beauty one square at a time, until his end earlier this year.
I saw him speak once. I remember “There is no figure/ground…only figure.” Standing up there in his white overalls.
